THE END AND THE BEGINNING Elizabeth Willis Barrett…………………January 2018 Those who know me, know that Christmas has often been a challenge. I have written and spoken about it often. In spite of my determination to do otherwise, I succumb to frustration for all that is expected during the holidays and I […]
EH??? Elizabeth Willis Barrett………………November 2017 I have to keep remembering that I want to post an essay on this blog every Monday and Thursday. That doesn’t seem too hard but I keep letting other things get in the way. Like, for instance, the removal of my four wisdom teeth and the endurance of a root […]
GET THE REST HOME READY! Elizabeth Willis Barrett………………Sept 2017 I’ve been thinking lately that I am doing a pretty good job of holding onto my faculties. I’ve got them in a tight grip because there’s no telling when whey will decide to slip out the back door and leave me for good. I’ve told […]
HAIR DAZE Elizabeth Willis Barrett……….July 2017 I was in a church kitchen the other day, again washing dishes with the other OMAs. Sixty-eight was for the old people of the world—those who started out old and never even experienced childhood, puberty or young adulthood. Sixty-eight was definitely out of my consciousness. Even to say that […]
ANOTHER AGING VENTILATION Elizabeth Willis Barrett…………..March 2014 The other day Brad and I drove separate cars to a detailing shop so Brad could leave his car there to be detailed. Essayist and Connector
I am the wife of a wonderful educator, the mother of five great kids and the grandmother of nineteen charming grandchildren. I love learning, teaching, reading, speaking, writing, photography and music. I want to discuss a variety of subjects such as: menus for a crowd, depression, cleaning tips, childhood anxiety, ideas for family gatherings, syndromes, positive psychology, drug abuse and whatever else comes up in this quandary of daily living.
If everything turns out just like I want it to, this website will be a gathering place for friends around the world. We will learn together, share ideas and encourage each other in our aspirations. Hope you’ll join me!
